Barakat Quality unveils new food plant in Dubai

FBR Staff Writer Published 20 February 2012

Barakat Quality Plus, a leading processor of fresh fruit and vegetable products, has opened its new food plant in Dubai.

The 200,000ft² plant, located in Dubai industrial city, forms the second phase of the company's expansion project. The new facility has a daily processing capacity of 200 tons of fresh sanitized vegetable produce.

The new facility complements the company's first plant at Jebel Ali Industrial Area, which has a daily processing capacity of 70 tons of fresh fruits for sugar-free juices, as well as cut fruits and smoothies.

Barakat Quality Plus CEO Jeyaraman said that Dubai Industrial City's close proximity to the Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali Sea Port, the two gateways through which the company imports and exports fruits and vegetables, was a decisive factor to build the new plant there.
